Hospices are the biggest fundraising cause in the UK. Together, hospices must raise £1.5 million every single day to keep helping seriously ill people to live well before they die.
You can raise vital funds for your local hospice, either by holding your own fundraising event or activity, or joining in with one of your local hospice's.
Hold your own event
What do you enjoy doing? The chances are you can turn it into a fantastic fundraising opportunity for your local hospice. Dance-athons, tea parties, golf days, dinner parties, clothes-swapping and bike rides are all excellent ways of having fun and raising funds for hospices. Just contact your local hospice and tell them what you've got in mind, and they will be able to support and advise you all the way.
One very popular idea is to hold a 'Come Dine With Us' event for your local hospice. The recipe for success is simple. Everyone who takes part is asked to bring a lunch dish for the other guests to enjoy, and to make a donation.

Join one of your local hospice's events
Hospices across the UK have busy programmes of events and campaigns all year round. From 'Light up a Life' events and ladies' night-time walks, to overseas treks and corporate dinners, there's always plenty to choose from.
Look up your local hospice and visit their website to find out about the latest events and campaigns.
Donate
Hospice care is free for patients and their families, but it is not free to provide. All donations, however big or small, help hospices to provide the very best care to people facing the end of life and their families.
